New Cyberport chairman named

Hong Kong Cyberport Management Company Limited today announced the appointment of George Lam as Chairman of the Board of Directors, succeeding Paul Chow.

 

The company also appointed Duncan Chiu to the board and re-appointed six serving directors: Alfred Wong, Gabriel Pang, Rosanna Choi, Jeny Yeung, Prof Philip Chan and Humphrey Choi.

 

The appointments are from June 5, 2016 to March 31, 2018.

 

Secretary for Innovation & Technology Nicholas Yang welcomed the chairman's appointment, adding that Mr Lam has more than 30 years experience in the information technology and financial sectors.

 

"We are confident that under his leadership, the company will continue to perform Cyberport's mission in fostering ICT talents and start-ups and facilitating the development of Hong Kong into a global hub for innovation and technology," Mr Yang added.

 

He also thanked Mr Chow for his invaluable contributions to Cyberport, laying a solid foundation for its long-term development in driving Hong Kong's ICT development.

 

Hong Kong Cyberport Management Company Limited is one of the three private and wholly-owned companies set up by the Government under the Financial Secretary Incorporated to oversee the Cyberport Project's development, management and operation.
