Secretary for Commerce & Economic Development Gregory So learnt about food truck operations while visiting London yesterday.

Accompanied by Nationwide Caterers Association representatives, Mr So spoke with some operators about their day-to-day business and how food trucks operate in a metropolitan city like London.

He was also briefed by the association on the information, systems and support they provide to caterers.

The Financial Secretary announced in the 2015-16 Budget to consider introducing food trucks, which are popular abroad, in Hong Kong.

The Tourism Commission was tasked with conducting a study and devised the Food Truck Pilot Scheme. The scheme is accepting applications until May 30.

Mr So had earlier visited the Warner Bros Studio and the Brompton Bicycle Company. He met with the Chinese business community in London and design and fashion sector representatives to discuss business opportunities and creative industries in Hong Kong.
