The Government announced today the re-appointment of Anna Wu as Competition Commission Chairperson and 13 members for two years from May 1.
Samuel Chan and Ayesha Abbas Macpherson Lau have also been appointed as members for a two-year term starting May 1.
The Government noted that under Ms Wu's chairmanship since May 2013, the commission has completed the necessary preparatory work for the Competition Ordinance's full commencement, adding that it will continue to benefit from her experience and leadership with the re-appointment.
With two new members the commission will continue to safeguard competition in Hong Kong, it added.
Established under the Competition Ordinance as an independent statutory body to investigate competition-related complaints and bring enforcement action before the Competition Tribunal, the commission also promotes public understanding of the ordinance and the benefits of competition.
