Secretary for Commerce & Economic Development Gregory So attended the World Trade Organisation Informal Ministerial Gathering in Davos, Switzerland, today.
At the gathering, the ministers exchanged views on how meaningful outcomes may be achieved in future WTO negotiations and what steps should be taken in the short term to advance the WTO negotiating agenda.
Speaking at the working session of the gathering, Mr So said that Hong Kong is open-minded and ready to engage.
"We are willing to work closely with other WTO members to explore different negotiating formats and approaches that can help reinvigorate the negotiations, while upholding the primacy and relevance of the multi-lateral trading system," he said.
