The Government recorded a $5.2 billion deficit in July, the Financial Services & the Treasury Bureau reported today.
Expenditure amounted to $41.8 billion in the month, while $36.6 billion in revenue was recorded.
The Government recorded $141.1 billion expenditure in the current financial year as at the end of July, with revenue of $109.4 billion.
The deficit was mainly because major types of revenue, including salaries and profits taxes, are mostly received towards the end of the financial year.
Fiscal reserves stood at $796.9 billion as at July 31.
