Secretary for Commerce & Economic Development Gregory So visited San Francisco yesterday to see how the city’s food trucks are managed.
He met with San Francisco’s public works and health department officials, as well as Small Business Assistance Centre representatives, to gain an understanding of their experience in regulating food trucks.
Mr So was briefed on the benefits of food trucks as opportunities for entrepreneurship and the attractiveness for tourists, and on the support provided by the centre to food truck operators.
He also visited some food trucks and spoke with the operators about their day-to-day business.
The commerce chief had earlier toured an electric vehicle manufacturer and paid a courtesy call on Chinese Consul General Luo Linquan.
Mr So also attended a dinner with the Hong Kong Association of Northern California Board of Directors.
