The Monetary Authority has issued an alert on a fraudulent website advertised in an email message which purports to be sent from the Hang Seng Bank.
The email asks customers to connect to a website through an embedded hyperlink and provide their personal data, such as Identity Card number and credit card information.
The bank has clarified it has not sent the emails and has no connection with the website.
Anyone who has provided personal information to the website, or conducted any financial transactions through it, should contact the bank on 2822 0203 and Police on 2860 5012.
