The Communications Authority has revoked the licence of NXTV Asia for its failure to pay a financial penalty and its licence fee for 2014-15.
NXTV was granted a 12-year licence to provide a television programme service to hotel rooms in Hong Kong in 2005.
It was given a $100,000 fine for failing to submit an auditor's certificate or statutory declaration for 2013-14 and 2014-15, as well as annual returns for 2013 and 2014. Despite repeated demands and reminders, NXTV failed to pay the fine and the fee for 2014-15.
With effect from the revocation of its licence on July 31, NXTV will no longer provide television programme services to hotels in Hong Kong.
