The Government recorded a $15.2 billion deficit in May, the Financial Services & the Treasury Bureau reported today.
Government expenditure for the two months ended May 31 amounted to $65.4 billion, with revenues of $50.2 billion.
The deficit was mainly because major types of revenue, including salaries and profits taxes, are mostly received towards the end of the financial year.
Fiscal reserves stood at $813.4 billion as at May 31.
