Financial Secretary John Tsang says he is confident the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank can be established by the end of the year.
He made the statement to the media before departing for Beijing today to attend the bank’s Articles of Agreement signing ceremony tomorrow.
The Government will also study the countries in the One Belt, One Road development area to identify opportunities for Hong Kong’s industries.
Speaking on the interest rate reduction by the People's Bank of China, Mr Tsang said he believes the move can help the Mainland’s economy to further develop, amid lacklustre growth in the US and Europe's economic problems.
