Secretary for Commerce & Economic Development Gregory So today attended the kick-off ceremony for the HAPPY@hongkong Super JETSO 2015 tourism campaign aimed at attracting more visitors and boosting local consumption.

Details of the tourism drive were unveiled during a press conference this morning in North Point.

Mr So told reporters after the press conference that hostile acts towards visitors by some protesters had tarnished Hong Kong's image as a tourist city.

He added that the campaign offers great deals for Hong Kong people, too, which could ignite local consumption.

The Quality Tourism Services Association will launch the five-week citywide tourism campaign from April 27 to May 28. It includes promotional offers from more than 10,000 retail outlets, restaurants and shopping malls aimed at boosting local consumer spending.

Campaign details will be available on the association's website from April 27.
