Secretary for Commerce & Economic Development Gregory So says the Executive Council needs to consider free TV licence renewal applications in accordance with due process and procedural justice.
Briefing reporters today, Mr So said the Executive Council is proceeding as quickly as possible, and an announcement will be made once a decision is reached.
Speaking on a new guideline issued by the Competition Commission, Mr So said the Competition Ordinance will be very beneficial to the business sector and the public at large.
He said the guideline will help society understand how to comply with the ordinance.
The Legislative Council Panel on Commerce & Industry will be briefed on the guidelines next month, he said, adding he hopes the ordinance can come into effect this year.
