Most major service industries saw a year-on-year rise in business receipts in the fourth quarter of last year, according to provisional figures released by the Census & Statistics Department today.
Double-digit increases were recorded for the warehousing and storage (+18.6%), real estate (+18.4%), information and communications (+14.9%), financing (except banking) (+14.0%), and insurance (+13.3%) industries.
Accommodation services industry receipts fell 1.6%.
The tourism, convention and exhibition services domain dropped 2.7%, while computer and information technology services fell 0.6%.
More than half of the major service industries recorded increases in business receipts in the fourth quarter when compared with the third quarter.
The warehousing and storage industry recorded the largest increase of 10.5%. The accommodation services industry saw a more noticeable decrease of 11.1%.
