Gregory So to visit Japan

Secretary for Commerce & Economic Development Gregory So will visit Tokyo and Osaka January 25 to 28 to promote Hong Kong's tourism and business industries.

 

In Tokyo he will attend a luncheon to promote Hong Kong as a safe and hospitable tourist destination for Japanese visitors, and will visit the Tokyo Disney Resort to discuss the theme park's expansions.

 

He will meet Chinese Ambassador to Japan Cheng Yonghua and meet with Japan’s State Minister of Economy, Trade & Industry Yosuke Takagi.

 

Mr So will go to Osaka on January 27 to visit Knowledge Capital to learn about its experience as a hub for nurturing knowledge creation activities.

 

He will also speak at the Think Global, Think Hong Kong symposium and meet with Hong Kong people in the Kansai area.

 

Mr So will return to Hong Kong on January 28. During his absence, Under Secretary for Commerce & Economic Development Godfrey Leung will be Acting Secretary for Commerce & Economic Development.
