Chief Executive CY Leung met China Securities Regulatory Commission Chairman Xiao Gang at Government House tonight.
Mr Leung thanked the commission for the smooth launch of Shanghai-Hong Kong Stock Connect.
Noting Hong Kong is a major international financial centre and the country's leading global financial centre, Mr Leung said the Government will capitalise on this dual identity and further promote diversification of financial services.
He also hopes the commission continues supporting Hong Kong's role as a "super-connector" to enhance financial connections between the Mainland and the world.
