Secretary for Commerce & Economic Development Gregory So today visited the 34th Hong Kong Electronics Fair and the 18th electronicAsia event at the Convention & Exhibition Centre.
The two fairs, which run from October 13 to 16, have attracted 4,100 exhibitors from 24 countries and regions to make up the world's largest electronics marketplace.
Major exhibit categories range from 3D printing, audio-visual products and healthcare electronics to home appliances, security products and telecommunications items.
Mr So visited some exhibitors in the Technology Exchange Zone and the Hall of Fame to learn more about their innovative products.
He said: "The products of Hong Kong exhibitors are not only innovative, but are also practical with creative designs. They epitomise the excellence of Hong Kong's electronics industry.”
He also noted some exhibitors said the Occupy Central movement had impacted them, adding that the Trade Development Council liaised with public transport operators to arrange transport to the venue to minimise visitor inconvenience.
