Secretary for Commerce & Economic Development Gregory So today met a Mexican trade delegation from Yucatan to discuss furthering business collaboration.
Mr So said Hong Kong has sound financial infrastructure, a robust legal system, and is close to the Mainland, making it an ideal platform for overseas design and technology start-up companies to raise capital and enter the Mainland market.
He encouraged Yucatan to make use of Hong Kong as a centre for intellectual property trading.
Mr So also briefed the delegation on the macro-economic situation and investment opportunities of Hong Kong.
"I hope that Hong Kong and Yucatan would further develop friendship and enhance economic co-operation in the future," he said.
The delegation was led by Yucatan Governor Rolando Zapata Bello.
