Secretary for Commerce & Economic Development Gregory So today visited the Institution of Dining Art to learn about its training programmes and facilities for the catering industry.
He met the institution's representatives and discussed improving the industry.
Established in 2003, the institution is one of the sector's four major chambers with more than 480 members managing more than 3,000 restaurants.
Mr So then visited the Vocational Training Council's Tao Miao Institute. Located in a revitalised industrial building, the institute provides training courses in quality, occupational safety, testing and management for the sector.
He also toured two exhibition halls displaying information on occupational safety and health, quality management, as well as international accreditation for the catering industry.
He then visited the Tao Heung Museum of Food Culture.
