Under Secretary for Financial Services & the Treasury James Lau today met with 30 post-secondary students from Shanghai on a study tour and encouraged them to grasp the exchange opportunity to better equip themselves for a career in the financial industry.
He said he believed that the students would have a better understanding of Hong Kong's financial, social and economic environment after completing the programme.
The students, from seven universities in Shanghai, will stay in Hong Kong for four weeks. They will visit the Monetary Authority, Securities & Futures Commission, Commissioner of Insurance, the Hong Kong Exchanges & Clearing Limited, and local financial institutions.
About 100 post-secondary financial students from Hong Kong and Shanghai have participated in the programme since its launch in 2012.
