At the Fourth Economic & Financial Forum in Beijing today, Financial Secretary John Tsang highlighted the rapid developments in offshore renminbi business in Hong Kong in recent years.
He encouraged the Mainland, Taiwan and Hong Kong to capture the opportunities arising from the renminbi's wider use to a fuller extent, building even more opportunities for better wealth creation.
Mr Tsang also called on Hong Kong & Macau Affairs Office Director Wang Guangya, and the National Development & Reform Commission Vice Chairman Liu He.
They discussed Hong Kong's latest overall economic situation and the global economic situation's impact on the city.
Mr Tsang returns to Hong Kong tonight.
