Common HK WiFi brand logo unveiled

April 20, 2014

The Government today unveiled a common brand identity to promote WiFi services that Hong Kong public and private-sector organisations provide free of charge or free for a limited period of time.

More than 10,000 votes were cast in an online poll from March 24 to April 6. The selected design obtained the highest number of votes.

Financial Secretary John Tsang unveiled the winning brand identity at the International IT Fest 2014 closing ceremony today.

The brand, with the name "Wi-Fi.HK" and a unique brand identity, is set to make it easier for people to identify free WiFi hotspots in the city, and enhance Hong Kong's position as a highly connected city.

More than 3,500 hotspots fall under the brand, including Government WiFi programme hotspots.
