The Monetary Authority has issued an alert on fraudulent emails purporting to be issued by it via the email accounts hkma@gov.hk and refund@system.hk.

The authority said it has no connection with the fraudulent emails and has reported the case to Police.

Anyone who has received the email should call Police on 2860 5012.
