Secretary for Financial Services & the Treasury Prof KC Chan today welcomed the findings of the fifth annual report of the Financial Reporting Council’s Process Review Panel.
It reviewed nine of the 25 cases handled by the council in 2012 and found it has adhered to internal procedures in its work.
The cases are related to auditing and reporting irregularities and non-compliance with accounting requirements of Hong Kong listed companies.
The panel gave recommendations to improve the procedures, which have been accepted by the council.
Prof Chan thanked the panel for enhancing the corporate governance of listed companies and ensuring the council’s transparency and accountability.
