Secretary for Commerce & Economic Development Gregory So visited two Hong Kong design firms today to discuss promoting the wider use of design in industrial and business processes.
He first stopped at a brand consultancy company at the InnoCentre in Kowloon Tong, which adopts a holistic approach to brand design covering brand development, corporate identity, interior design and visual merchandising.
Mr So was briefed on its successful branding campaigns and the crucial role of good design in building a winning brand.
He then visited another firm focused on the design of household products and gifts.
Mr So inspected products it designed, and said he was impressed by its commitment to creating quality products that are original, stylish, and functional.
The company's top executive is a renowned product designer who has won a number of local and international awards.
Mr So said through the collaboration of the Government, professional bodies and industries, a 'Hong Kong Design' brand defined by imagination, excellence, inventiveness and style will come into shape.
