Composite interest rate down

May 17, 2012

The composite interest rate dropped by three basis points from 0.42% at the end of March to 0.39% at the end of April, the Monetary Authority announced today.

The composite interest rate is a measure of the average cost of funds of banks.

The decline mainly reflected a decrease in the weighted funding cost for deposits.
