Sale-purchase agreements up 0.8%

The number of sale and purchase agreements for all building units received for registration in August was 7,348, up 0.8% on July, but down 56.6% year on year.
 
According to figures the Land Registry released today, the 12-month moving average for August was 11,552, which was 6.5% below the 12-month moving average for July and 11.7% below that for August last year.
 
The total consideration for sale and purchase agreements in the month was $40.8 billion, down 3.6% on July and a 49.1% year on year decline.
 
Among the sale and purchase agreements, 5,439 were for residential units, up 3.5% on July, but down 63% on August last year.
 
The total consideration for sale and purchase agreements in respect of residential units was $31.8 billion, up 0.1% on July but down 54.1% on August last year.
 
The number of searches of land registers made by the public in August was 429,864, up 3.4% compared with July, but down 20.5% year on year.
