The Environmental Protection Department recorded 58 convictions for pollution offences in October.
Eleven were for air pollution, 12 for noise, 33 for waste disposal and two for water pollution.
The heaviest penalty handed down in the month was $30,000 against a construction company for using powered mechanical equipment without a valid permit and a clinic for improper disposal of clinical waste.
