The Environmental Protection Department recorded 72 convictions for pollution offences in July.
Thirteen were for air pollution, 12 for noise, four for breaching the Product Eco-responsibility Ordinance, 41 for illegal waste disposal, and two for water pollution offences.
The heaviest penalty handed down in the month was a $30,000 fine against an engineering company which violated the Water Pollution Control Ordinance.
