February sunnier than usual

The weather was brighter than usual last month, with the duration of sunshine more than 40% above normal figure, the Hong Kong Observatory said today.

 

Despite two cold spells, the monthly mean temperature was 17 degrees Celsius, 0.2 degrees higher than normal.

 

The month’s highest temperature of 25.5 degrees was recorded on February 20 and the lowest temperature of 10.6 degrees on February 26.

 

The month's total rainfall was only 19.9mm, less than half of the normal figure.
