The Hong Kong-Guangdong Joint Working Group on Cleaner Production held its third meeting in Guangzhou today.
Secretary for the Environment KS Wong co-chaired the meeting with Vice Director-General of the Guangdong Economic & Information Commission Lin Weichao.
It agreed on the 2017 work plan to continuously promote the use of cleaner production technologies to reduce volatile organic compounds, the greater use of high-efficiency motors, and the upgrading of motors and injection moulding machines to save energy.
Both sides will synchronise the promulgation of additional information on cleaner production technologies.
The meeting also saw the commendation of 148 enterprises to recognise their efforts under the Hong Kong-Guangdong Cleaner Production Partners Recognition Scheme.
The Cleaner Production Partnership Programme has approved 2,700 funding applications since its 2008 launch.
