KS Wong concludes Japan visit

Conservation conversation:  Secretary for the Environment KS Wong (left) meets the Mayor of Toyooka City Muneharu Nakagai.

Secretary for the Environment KS Wong visited the Toyooka Municipal Museum for Oriental White Stork in Hyogo Prefecture before concluding his itinerary in Japan today.

 

Mr Wong met Toyooka City Mayor Muneharu Nakagai there.

 

He was briefed on the sustainable measures to restore the habitat of the Oriental white stork, an endangered species, and to promote environmentally friendly farming practices.

 

Mr Wong was yesterday briefed by the Hyogo Prefectural Government officials on the Hokusetsu Satoyama College, during which he learned more about the conservation and management of Hokusetsu Satoyama.
