June 30, 2016

The 16th batch of applications for green transport trials under the Pilot Green Transport Fund has been approved, the Environmental Protection Department announced today.

The five newly approved applications cover seven electric vans and one hybrid truck, involving a total subsidy of $2.2 million.

The latest approval brings the total number of trials to 91, amounting to a total subsidy of $89 million.

The Government set up the $300 million fund in 2011. Transport operators can apply to the fund to test green transport technologies, subject to a maximum subsidy of $9 million per application and $12 million in total.
