Bualoi has been added to this year's list of tropical cyclone names in the western North Pacific and the South China Sea, the Hong Kong Observatory announced today.
Thailand proposed Bualoi, the name of a Thai dessert to replace Rammasun.
The United Nations Economic & Social Commission for Asia & the Pacific - World Meteorological Organisation Typhoon Committee endorsed the name at its 48th session in Hawaii in February.
The Typhoon Committee will consider removing the name of a tropical cyclone which has caused serious human casualties and economic losses. In July 2014, Severe Typhoon Rammasun hit the Philippines and caused at least 98 deaths.
