The Environmental Protection Department has rated water quality at 12 beaches 'good', 22 'fair' and five 'poor' for this weekend.
Kiu Tsui Beach received a better grading than last week, moving up from 'fair' to 'good', and Silver Mine Bay and Silverstrand Beaches from 'poor' to 'fair'.
Cheung Chau Tung Wan and Kwun Yam Beaches were downgraded from 'good' to 'fair', and Butterfly, Castle Peak, Lower Cheung Sha and Ting Kau Beaches from 'fair' to 'poor'.
The department also advised beach-goers to check with the Leisure & Cultural Services Department before going for a swim in Tsuen Wan District, and Silver Mine Bay Beach in Islands District which have been affected by recent oil spills.
