The Government will launch a city-wide cleansing campaign in August and September, Chief Executive CY Leung announced.
Attending the Legislative Council question-and-answer session today, Mr Leung said the Government noted that the hygiene conditions of some public areas and facilities had been deteriorating.
Led by the Chief Secretary with relevant bureaus and departments, the campaign will call on the community to carry out thorough cleaning work to keep Hong Kong clean, he said.
It also aims to spread the message of the importance of maintaining environmental hygiene, he added.
