The Food & Environmental Hygiene Department today began a three-week clean-up campaign across the city to usher in the upcoming Year of the Ram.
During the campaign period, the department will step up cleaning of public facilities such as markets, cooked food centres and hawker bazaars under its management.
It will also boost cleaning and pest control measures in all districts and set up additional temporary refuse collection points for people throwing away large household waste items.
The clean-up will run until February 15.
The department will strengthen enforcement action to ensure public places are kept clean. It also reminded people that littering, spitting and illegal posting of bills or posters all breach the law.
