The Environmental Protection Department recorded 29 convictions for pollution offences in September.
Nine were for air pollution, eight for noise and 11 were for waste disposal offences.
The heaviest fine handed down in the month was $20,000 against three companies that used powered mechanical equipment not complying with permit conditions, and a company that carried out construction work without a valid noise permit.
