Changing habits

Changing habits:  The Waste Less School Award encourages schools to achieve waste reduction with measurable outcomes.
 
 

The green efforts of 39 schools was recognised by the Environmental Campaign Committee today.

 

During an awards ceremony, 12 pre-schools that were among 87 entries in their category received $5,000 cash prizes for their work in protecting the environment.

 

Thirteen primary schools and 14 secondary schools that were among 175 entries in their section were awarded the Hong Kong Green School title.

 

The committee also launched a new Waste Less School Award to encourage primary and secondary schools to prepare for the upcoming introduction of a waste charge, by reducing rubbish through setting up measurable outcomes.
