The Environmental Protection Department recorded 19 convictions for pollution offences in June.

Eight were for air pollution, four for noise and seven for waste disposal offences.

The heaviest fine handed down in the month was $50,000, assessed against a company that used powered mechanical equipment without a valid construction noise permit.
