The Environmental Protection Department will launch an ex-gratia payment scheme tomorrow to encourage the retirement of pre-Euro IV diesel commercial vehicles, including trucks, minibuses and coaches.
Eligible owners are required to scrap their vehicles through registered companies, before cancelling their registration and applying for the payment at the Transport Department.

The scheme will retire 82,000 pre-Euro IV diesel commercial vehicles to improve roadside air quality and protect public health.
