KS Wong concludes Singapore visit
May 17, 2013
Singapore’s experience has provided Hong Kong with valuable insight into the formulation of strategies and action plans on promoting green building, energy efficiency and waste management.
Secretary for the Environment KS Wong made the statement today, as he and the Steering Committee on the Promotion of Green Building wound up their Singapore visit.
They called on Minister for the Environment & Water Resources Dr Vivian Balakrishnan to exchange views on environmental protection policies.
They then met the Chairperson of the National Environment Agency Chew Gek Khim to share their experience in solid waste management and energy efficiency, and toured an e-waste recycling plant.
They then visited a waste-to-energy plant, the first of its kind built under public-private-partnership in Singapore, before departing for Hong Kong.
