Secretary for the Civil Service Joshua Law visited Tsuen Wan today to inspect youth and elderly facilities and meet District Councillors.
He visited the SAGE Tsuen Wan District Elderly Community Centre run by the Society for the Aged to learn about its facilities and the activities it organises for senior citizens.
He chatted with the centre's users to learn about their daily lives and needs.
He then visited the Federation of Youth Groups' Tsuen Wan Youth S.P.O.T. and listened to the learning experiences of a group of young volunteers.
He said: "I was an assistant district officer in Tsuen Wan many years ago and had lived in the district before. Therefore I feel like returning home today.
"I love talking to young people because you can feel their passion and see Hong Kong's future in their faces.
"I hope youngsters can do more community services to develop positive values and become responsible citizens."
