Secretary for Constitutional & Mainland Affairs Patrick Nip started his Beijing trip today by visiting ministries and departments to discuss work-related matters and Hong Kong people working and starting businesses in the capital.

Mr Nip visited the Office of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government in Beijing and was briefed on its work.

He said he is pleased to know the activities it has organised celebrating the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region's 20th anniversary in the capital and in the provinces have received an overwhelming response.

He was told the office will continue to foster links between Hong Kong and Beijing as well as the provinces, cities and autonomous regions under its purview, and hold activities to promote Hong Kong.

Mr Nip then paid courtesy calls on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Taiwan Affairs Office.

He also visited the Zhongguancun Beijing-HongKong-Macao Youth Innovation Centre, meeting young entrepreneurs from Hong Kong to learn about the opportunities and challenges encountered as a business starter in the Mainland.

Mr Nip will meet officials from the Hong Kong & Macao Affairs Office and representatives from organisations of Hong Kong people in Beijing tomorrow.
