CE concludes Beijing visit

Chief Executive Carrie Lam concluded her Beijing trip today by calling on Minister of Foreign Affairs Wang Yi and meeting other officials.


Mrs Lam thanked Mr Wang and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for helping Hong Kong residents in distress when they are abroad.


She also appreciated its support for the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government in expanding external relations for economic and social developments.


Meeting with Minister of Culture Luo Shugang, several proposals to deepen cultural co-operation were tabled, and they agreed to formulate and sign an agreement on specific items soon.


Together with Financial Secretary Paul Chan and Secretary for Commerce & Economic Development Edward Yau, Mrs Lam also met China National Tourism Administration Chairman Li Jinzao to discuss the tourism market in Hong Kong and the Mainland.


She and Mr Li witnessed the signing of an agreement by Mr Yau and National Tourism Administration Vice Chairman Du Jiang to further enhance tourism co-operation between both places.


At a meeting with Director of the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film & Television Nie Chenxi, Mrs Lam thanked the body for supporting Hong Kong.


She said she hopes there will be more development opportunities on the Mainland for Hong Kong's publishing and film industries.
