CE meets Thai PM

Chief Executive Carrie Lam concluded her visit to Singapore and Thailand in Bangkok today.
 
She paid her respects to the late King of Thailand at the Grand Palace and met Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha.
 
She told him about Hong Kong's unique role in the Belt & Road Initiative and in the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Bay Area.
 
She said she hopes to promote trade and investment between Hong Kong and Thailand, and increase exchanges between their two governments, and co-operation in areas like tourism.
 
Mrs Lam also attended a meeting hosted by the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
 
She witnessed the signing of a Letter of Intent between the Hong Kong Trade Development Council and the Department of International Trade Promotion under Thailand's Ministry of Commerce.
 
It will enhance trade promotion and capacity building, foster start-ups and groom young talents and entrepreneurs.
 
Mrs Lam also attended two roundtable forums to explore collaboration opportunities.
 
She said she looks forward to boosting sustainable development and growth in the Hong Kong and Thai economies through closer co-operation of the two governments and industries.
