Chief Secretary Carrie Lam visited Wan Chai today to tour the district's landmarks and meet District Councillors.
At Jardine's Crescent she was briefed by officers of the Food & Environmental Hygiene and Fire Services departments on the reprovisioning of the crescent hawker area.
She was told new stalls for the 141 resettled stalls are sturdier, more attractive and more user friendly.
She then went to Tang Lung Chau Market to learn more about the utilisation of public markets and toured the Blue House Cluster that comprises three historic buildings.
The cluster, having been included in the Revitalising Historic Buildings Through Partnership Scheme, will be revamped to provide residences, cultural and education activities, heritage guided tours and catering services.
Mrs Lam later met Wan Chai District Councillors to discuss local issues.
