Chief Executive CY Leung says he and the Government attach great importance to the relationship between the administration and the legislature.
Responding to questions today about a cocktail reception which is being boycotted by some lawmakers, he told reporters he tries to speak with legislators at different occasions.
He and other officials have tried to attend activities organised by the Legislative Council.
He has invited lawmakers to express their views on the Policy Address and invited them to attend some social functions.
However, he cannot control individual lawmakers’ responses to these occasions, he added.
