Secretary for Constitutional & Mainland Affairs Raymond Tam met Zhejiang Vice-Governor Liang Liming in Hangzhou today.
They discussed enhancing co-operation between Hong Kong and Hangzhou.
Mr Tam said Hong Kong’s mature services sector, with its large pool of professionals familiar with international practices, can support Zhejiang's development and help its enterprises in using Hong Kong as their platform to "go global" and develop in overseas markets.
He said the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government will form a Liaison Unit in Hangzhou by the middle of next year to promote closer links between the two places.
Mr Tam later visited the Qianjiang CBD.
Tonight he will meet Hong Kong people doing business in Hangzhou.
