The Legal Aid Department has won the Ombudsman's Grand Award for its excellent service standards.
It was commended at today's Ombudsman's Awards ceremony for its outstanding performance in handling complaints.
The Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority and the Transport Department also won awards along with 37 public officers for their quality customer services.
Presenting the awards, Ombudsman Connie Lau reminded government departments and public organisations to show empathy to keep abreast of changes and meet public expectations.
The awards are presented annually to acknowledge professionalism in handling complaints and to foster a positive complaint culture in the public sector.
