Kiwi counsel:  Secretary for Constitutional & Mainland Affairs Raymond Tam meets New Zealand Parliament House of Representatives Speaker David Carter.

'Ni hao':  Mr Tam meets Chinese Ambassador to New Zealand Wang Lutong.

Secretary for Constitutional & Mainland Affairs Raymond Tam today met New Zealand officials in Wellington.

 

He met New Zealand Parliament House of Representatives Speaker David Carter, House Leader Gerry Brownlee and Local Government Minister Peseta Sam Lotu-Iiga.

 

He learned about the operation of New Zealand’s Parliament and matters concerning its local councils.

 

He also met Electoral Commission Chief Electoral Officer Robert Peden who briefed him on New Zealand’s electoral system and election arrangements.

 

Earlier in the day Mr Tam met Chinese Ambassador to New Zealand Wang Lutong.

 

Mr Tam will head to Auckland tonight.
